A ski phone has a hard winter
A lot of Austrian trips are ski trips, and a phone on a mountain is doing specific work: the lift status, the piste map, the avalanche bulletin, and finding the rest of your group at the bottom of a run. It is also cold, which drains a battery faster than you expect, and you are often out of reach of any Wi-Fi from first lift to last. That combination is why a resort week wants a plan with room in it rather than the smallest one.
