Get the data you need for your trip to China. Install digitally, keep your usual SIM, and start exploring.
Buy now, activate later. You have 150 days from purchase to activate, and the plan only starts counting once you do.
Your eSIM connects to China Mobile, the largest network in the country, with 4G LTE and 5G where available. Coverage reaches well beyond Beijing and Shanghai into the second-tier cities and along the high-speed rail routes between them.
Google, WhatsApp, Instagram, Gmail and most Western news sites are blocked inside mainland China, that is the Great Firewall, and it applies to any connection from within the country. Set up a VPN before you fly, because many VPN apps cannot be downloaded once you are there. Your eSIM gives you a working connection from the moment you land; the VPN decides which services that connection can reach.
A week in one city with maps, translation and payment QR codes fits in 3GB at $8.00. Two weeks across Beijing, Xi'an and Shanghai, with translation running constantly, is closer to 10GB at $14.00. A month, or a business trip with video calls, wants 20GB at $20.00.
Camera translation, pointing your phone at a menu or a street sign, uses noticeably more data than typing text. If that is your main way of getting around, take one size up from what you would normally choose for the same number of days.
Install before you fly, while you still have Wi-Fi. Arriving with data already working matters more here than almost anywhere else, because the apps you need for taxis, payments and directions all want a connection before you have one.
These plans cover China as well, so a single eSIM keeps working when you cross the border.
Your QR code lands in your inbox the moment you pay.
Scan the QR code in your phone settings. Done in about 2 minutes.
The price you see is the price you pay. No roaming surprises.
